Removing Barriers to Timely Access to Care

AAOS worked to remove barriers to the prior authorization process by drafting a letter to Congress in support of the Gold Card Act of 2023 (H.R. 4968), which could exempt physicians from the approval process based on their approval rate in the preceding year.

Addressing Violence in the Workplace

The Safety From Violence for Healthcare Employees Act (SAVE Act) was reintroduced in the House of Representatives and introduced for the first time in the Senate in 2023 due to the work of AAOS.

Orthopaedic Advocacy Week

Physician leaders came together during the 2023 Orthopaedic Advocacy Week to complete over 900 letters to policymakers and help the OrthoPAC raise over $200,000.
