From Our Annual Report
In 2021, AAOS completed the launch of the AAOS Leadership Institute (ALI), a four-tiered program offering tools, skills, and mentorship to over 193 current participants in training for future Academy leadership roles.
Resident Orthopaedic Core Knowledge Program (ROCK)
Introducing the ROCK ― the first comprehensive resident curriculum available to residency programs across the country. The program gets its name from the winner of an online contest, first-year resident Sarah Fogleman, MD.
Fracture & Trauma Registry
The AAOS expanded its Family of Registries in 2021 by launching the Fracture & Trauma Registry (FTR) in partnership with the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. The fifth in a series of evidence-based registries, FTR is the first built with a collaborative approach across the RegistryInsights® platform.
Orthopaedic Advocacy Week
A special Orthopaedic Advocacy Week was held in 2021. Nearly 250 members engaged virtually in advocacy activities, resulting in 582 letters sent to congressional offices, $270,000 raised for the OrthoPAC, 109 new legislative cosponsors for bills related to issues of interest to orthopaedic surgeons and more.
