From Our Annual Report
Reforming Prior Authorization
Following years of work by AAOS to streamline the prior authorization process, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act (H.R. 3173). It seeks to reduce the hassle of prior authorization approvals for patients within the Medicare Advantage program.
Over 300 registered surgeon advocates signed letters to policymakers, encouraged regulatory sign-ons and raised $113,000 for the OrthoPAC.
Diversity in Orthopaedics
$300,000 in grants was awarded through the AAOS IDEA Grant™ Program to inspire diversity, equity, access and inclusion projects across orthopaedics.
Quality and Evidence-Based Research
The second AAOS Biologics Symposium was a sell-out, further spurring conversation around ways to help guide orthopaedic surgeons and vastly improve patient care within the biologics space.
The Power of Registry Data
In 2022, the AAOS Registry Program amassed over 3.3 million procedures, with AJRR surpassing 3 million records alone.
